Schedule a Test Drive for Exotic Cars near Ridgefield, CT

If you live near Ridgefield, CT, and love exotic cars, McLaren of Greenwich is worth the drive. The Greenwich showroom offers one of the strongest selections of exotic and high-performance cars in the area, with McLaren supercars, Ferrari V12 and hybrid flagships, Porsche 911 specials, Aston Martin grand tourers, a Bentley, a Bugatti Bolide, and a 1965 Shelby Cobra.

This guide covers what’s in the collection, which cars suit which driver, and how to book a test drive.

Why Enthusiasts Near Ridgefield Head to Greenwich

Ridgefield is known for scenic back roads, historic charm, and drivers who appreciate a good car. Many local enthusiasts already know that the best way to choose an exotic is to drive several of them back to back. Photos and spec sheets only go so far. Steering feel, seat comfort, engine sound, and visibility are things you only learn behind the wheel.

McLaren Greenwich describes itself as the first and only McLaren dealership in Connecticut. It sits on West Putnam Avenue, just off I-95 and about five minutes from the Merritt Parkway. From Ridgefield, the trip is typically under an hour, depending on traffic.

McLaren: Supercars Built Around the Driver

Artura: The Hybrid Supercar

McLaren’s Artura pairs a twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor. It’s the brand’s high-tech hybrid, with a focus on sharp response and precise handling. You’ll find several versions here: the 2025 Artura TechLux, the 2023 Artura Performance, and the 2024 Artura Vision. Each package changes the equipment mix, so ask the team to explain how the trims differ.

720S and 750S: Pure Supercar Speed

The 720S is a modern McLaren icon. Its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 produces roughly 710 horsepower, and the car is known for its lightweight carbon structure and sensational speed. Two examples are here: a 2019 720S Performance and a 2021 720S Le Mans.

The 2026 750S TechLux takes that formula further. It adds roughly 740 horsepower and sharper dynamics. If you want a McLaren at its most intense, start here.

GT and GTS: Supercar Speed, Everyday Comfort

The McLaren GT is the brand’s grand tourer. It’s built to cover long distances in comfort while keeping real performance in reserve, with more luggage room than most mid-engine cars. A 2023 GT and a 2023 GT Pioneer are available, along with the 2025 GTS Performance. For drivers who want an exotic they can use often, these are excellent choices.

Ferrari: V12 Drama and Hybrid Speed

The 2025 Ferrari 12 Cilindri carries on Ferrari’s naturally aspirated V12 tradition, with more than 800 horsepower and a soundtrack that’s hard to forget. It’s a front-engine grand tourer for drivers who value presence and long-distance ability.

The 2024 Ferrari 296 GTB takes a different path. A twin-turbo V6 hybrid system delivers about 818 horsepower in a compact, agile package. It feels light and immediate, and it suits enthusiasts who like to be engaged with the road.

Porsche: Three Very Different 911s

  • 2026 911 GT3 Touring: A high-revving, naturally aspirated flat-six with a subtle look. It’s the choice for purists who love steering feel and sound.
  • 2026 911 Turbo S: Extreme all-weather speed with about 640 horsepower, and enough comfort for daily use.
  • 2025 911 Turbo 50 Years: A special edition honoring half a century of Porsche Turbo models. It appeals to collectors as much as drivers.

Aston Martin and Bentley: Grand Touring With Attitude

Aston Martin is well represented, with two Vanquish models (2025 and 2026), a 2025 DB12 V8, and a 2025 Vantage. The Vanquish is the flagship, with a twin-turbo V12 and over 800 horsepower. The DB12 and Vantage use twin-turbo V8 power and balance style, speed, and comfort.

The 2026 Bentley Continental GT Azure brings a different flavor of luxury. It uses a V8 plug-in hybrid setup that has been reported at 671 horsepower and 686 lb-ft of torque. Expect a quiet cabin, a plush ride, and effortless speed.

Bugatti Bolide and Shelby Cobra: Two Extremes

The 2024 Bugatti Bolide is one of the most extreme machines in the collection. It’s a track-focused hypercar built around Bugatti’s quad-turbo W16 engine, with around 1,600 horsepower on tap. Few people ever see one in person, so a visit may be worth it for the Bolide alone.

At the other end of the timeline, the 1965 Shelby Cobra shows where American performance began. It’s a raw, lightweight roadster that is as exciting to look at as it is to hear. Seeing a Cobra beside modern hypercars is a rare chance to compare eras.

How to Choose Your Test Drive

If you’re unsure where to begin, try this guide:

  • Want a hybrid supercar? Look at the McLaren Artura or Ferrari 296 GTB.
  • Want a V12? Look at the Ferrari 12 Cilindri or Aston Martin Vanquish.
  • Want a pure driver’s car? Look at the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring or McLaren 750S.
  • Want an exotic for long trips? Look at the McLaren GT, GTS, or Bentley Continental GT Azure.
  • Want everyday speed? Look at the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
  • Want a collector’s piece? Look at the 911 Turbo 50 Years, Bugatti Bolide, or 1965 Shelby Cobra.

Plan to drive more than one car. Comparing two or three back to back tells you more than any review.

What to Expect When You Schedule a Test Drive

A test drive at McLaren Greenwich should be simple. Here’s how to prepare:

  • Call ahead. Confirm the car you want is on the floor and available.
  • Bring your driver’s license. You’ll need it for any test drive.
  • Know your priorities. Think about comfort, performance, practicality, and budget.
  • Ask about options. Trim packages and equipment vary between cars.

Insufficient Funds

If a person writes a check without sufficient funds in an associated account to cover it, the check will bounce, or be returned for insufficient funds. Each state has laws regulating how merchants may respond to bounced checks. In Connecticut, the merchant may file a civil suit and press criminal charges if the check writer does not reimburse him for a bounced check after the merchant has sent several notices regarding the matter.

Posted Notice Requirement

Merchants and other business owners who accept checks must post a notice where customers are likely to see it warning them of the potential consequences of writing bad checks. The notice must include the civil penalties that bad check writers may face, the appropriate Connecticut statute number and an advisory that the check writer may also face criminal penalties

Civil and Criminal Penalties

As of 2010, civil courts may require the check writer to reimburse the merchant for the value of the check plus pay up to $750 if he has no back account or $400 if the check is returned for insufficient funds. If the merchant chooses to press criminal charges, the bad check writer may face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to one year in jail. Writing a bad check is a felony charge if the check was for more than $1,000 and a misdemeanor if written for a lesser amount.

Required Written Notices

If a check bounces, the merchant must send the check writer a letter by certified mail at the check writer's last known address or place of business. Usually this letter is sent to the address on the writer's check. The letter must inform the writer that the check was returned ask him to reimburse the merchant for the amount of the check and inform him of the potential criminal or civil penalties if he fails to do so. If the check writers does not respond to the letter within 15 days of receipt, the merchant must send a second letter. This letter must inform the check writer that he has 30 days to reimburse the merchant before the merchant takes legal action against him. Both letters must be written in both English and Spanish.
